Have you seen the adorable Valentine’s Day door idea to place a cute little heart on your kids’ door telling them something you love about them every day until Valentine’s Day? I love this idea but do not see my boys appreciating pink/purple/red hearts all over their door. Especially if friends (or even worse – girls) come over! I made up a simple printable to get the same point across without being too Valentine-y so it’s perfect for my boys.
You can place this printable in a frame, page protector or laminate it to make it dry-erasable.
I love having a laminator on hand for easy quick “crafts” like this.
Then using dry-erase markers, dry-erase crayons, or dry-erase pencils, each family member can write different reasons they love each other on the sign hanging on their doors. Choose a different color for each family member or let them guess!
This is such a fun, simple idea and way to tell your kids things you might not always get to. Obviously sibling notes may not always be as serious, but even if you just let the parents do it for each kid every day or so, think of all the compliments each kid gets to read about themselves.
I used a removable clip on the doors (that can be used for other notes too) but you could just tape it to the door, bathroom, or on a wall/shelf/closet in their bedroom. You could also just print out a new paper for each day so they can collect their compliments.
Either way, it’s a fun, not-too-flashy way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your kids or teens.
