You know those activities you did as a kid, the super simple ideas that your mom or grandma came up with for you to do when you were bored? This is one of those and used to be a favorite of my boys! All you need is water, a paintbrush (or several) and a surface.
The patio or cement is a great spot, the side of the house, an old box… really anything that water will show up on. Younger kids might like larger brushes or even rollers better than smaller ones.
Grab some brushes and paint away! The best part is the secret art will disappear and they can create again and again (with no cleanup on your part).
I’m pretty sure I did this as a kid and I KNOW my boys loved doing this with my mother in law all through the summer. It’s fun for little ones too (they might like the bigger brushes). When my boys were toddlers they didn’t paint anything specific, they just liked seeing the water darken the surface.
If you haven’t tried this yet – do it this week and let me know what your kids thought! Do you have a favorite simple activity?

Water painting is a great and wonderful activity for kids. I have tried it with my kid, she loved it! She really enjoyed painting with water. Water painting is a very interesting activity that will help your child learn to paint in the most fun way possible.
