We were so luck to get to attend the first showing of Peter and the Starcatcher last night at ASU Gammage in Tempe (it’s here through January 19th!)
It was awesome! We hadn’t heard much about it before we went but left the theater with cheeks hurting from laughing too much. (The first act in the 2nd half was one of our favorites as well as the transition of Black stache into Hook 😉 So, so funny!
If you haven’t heard about it you can learn more here but basically it’s the prequel to the Peter Pan story. It definitely had some learning moments for the boys too. The lines are delivered quickly so you’ll need to pay attention to get some of the funny one liners thrown in. I’d say it’s for kids ages 10 and up (my 9 year old loved it so it obviously depends on the kids).
Another really cool thing about the production is how they used the props throughout the show and the fact that most of the set is made of recycled materials. It was fun to pick out all of the items and how they used them differently.
We’re big on using recycled items in different ways – it’s cheap, free, easy to do at home and still fun. What’s not to love? Here are some ideas to get your wheels turning
