If you love Star Wars or are just looking for a fun recycled craft to do with the kids – check this one out! You can make all sorts of droids from items you find around the house. This is a great way to talk about recycling along with making your favorite, or brand new, Star Wars droids. You could even find some magazines to cut up to add some different patterns and colors. This makes a fun party craft or just something to keep the kids busy this weekend while you watch Star Wars films.
We pulled together some items like these
and cut and played with them until we were getting a shape we liked.
Spray paint would be really cool but I didn’t have any around so we covered this one in foil!
Some straws for legs and Lifesavers for wheels
Cut some shapes out of paper to finish him off.
This one has a body made out of a cup, feet from an egg carton and a head from those little takeout containers for condiments.
Have older kids use nuts and bolts to assemble them!
The best part is the kids can use their imagination as they go finding more objects from around the house! I wonder what other supplies would make good droid parts?
