This Saturday October 11th, 2014 is the 3rd annual Star Wars Reads Day! Star Wars Reads Day is an international event that celebrates reading and Star Wars. Bookstores, libraries and groups around the world will hold Star Wars events. Since I can’t possibly list all of them you’ll have to google events in your area, but call/look into libraries, small book stores, large bookstores or even some toy stores. We’ve had fun listening to stories, doing crafts and winning prizes at our local bookstores in the past couple of years.
If you can’t find anything in your area – hold your own day of fun at home! You can print out an entire activity kit HERE. I love these printable finger puppets that are from my favorite Star Wars book series from Jeffrey Brown.
Love this newer one Goodnight Darth Vader
Have you ever participated in a Star Wars Reads Day event? You can get more info on their Facebook Page. We’ve posted a lot of fun Star Wars ideas in the past as well for more fun!

Sounds like a lot of fun! We’re all set to read Shakespeare’s Star Wars.
My boys would love this! Thanks!
You’re welcome!
Hi Allison. I went to a library event today with my boys but didn’t realise it was such a big thing! They had a wonderful time and brought home lots of the crafts to do plus HEAPS of Star Wars books (including that one above). We’ll have to dress up next time 😉
Glad you had fun! Yes, I think it’s getting bigger every year – next year you should fit right in all dressed up 😉
