Sawdust and Paper Scraps shared a very smart DIY on their blog. It’s a Play and Store Toy mat where you can play in a city and then cinch up the mess when you’re done. You could build Lego skyscrapers and drive around town with your Matchbox cars or Thomas trains.
To go along with my secret stash we have some fun things that the boys like to do while waiting at a dinner table or airplane or wherever they need to sit still for a long period of time. One of those is making backgrounds for their Legos, plastic animals, Playmobils or whatever small toy they happen to have along at the time.
We like to be out of the house often and have since the boys were little. Short trips, long trips it doesn’ matter we just like to go! We also like to eat out. All that going and eating out still means lots of having to sit still, which for boys, is usually the complete opposite of what they want to do.
When they were younger I started keeping a secret stash of fun things to do when having to sit still. It’s changed a lot as they’ve gotten older. This is what my stash looks like right now

I don’t know about you all, but here in AZ we’ve already had a 118ºF day. We do have some scorching summers so if we’re playing outside (voluntarily) it involves water! Here are some fun activities we’ve found.

Yep, I am so going there. Fart, toot, cut the cheese, pass gas, breaking wind, flatulence, whatever you want to call it I have yet to meet a boy who doesn’t think it’s funny. Living in a house with 3 boys you quickly learn to find the humor in bodily functions. If you want to be the life of a boy party teach them this fun “trick”. My brother (ok maybe me too) did this when we were younger and the boys learned at a friends’ house from a neighbor.

A new edition of Etsy Finds Friday. This week is imagination. My boys love using their imagination and fun props to help them are always a bonus. We…
Have you heard of Geocaching? It’s sort of like a treasure hunt. Someone hides a container of little “treasures” and logs it on the Geocaching site. You create a free account and choose a site close to you (or whever you want) and you’ll get the GPS coordinates for that site. The Geocaching app for iPhone (I think they have Android too) was pretty easy in folling the coordinates but you can use your smart phone with GPS, or GPS unit if you have one.

I should probably do an Etsy Finds Friday again soon, but the boys and I love Fort Friday. It always makes me want to stop what I’m doing and build a fort. Everything is more fun in a fort! I think we’ll build one this week to share at our next Fort Friday.
I am SO jealous of this party, not to plan it, but to be there and play in it!
Seen on OhDeeDoh – Ashley Campbell shared this crazy amazing totally BOY (and girl who likes to get dirty) Warrior Dash. I’ve alwasy wanted to do a mess party and this Warrior Dash themed party looks like SO much fun!
