We have always loved card games in this house. When the boys were younger they always struggled with holding a larger hand of cards so we came up with different solutions to help them out. Their favorite was an easy DIY card holder. We’ve stepped up our original card holder design a bit with Plasti Dip Craft which is a sprayable air-dry, specialty rubber coating which gives this DIY playing card holder the perfect non-slip, durable rubber coating! How to Make a Card Holder

To make your own card holder you’ll need a plastic lid (recycle!), strong adhesive, and Plasti Dip Craft in your favorite color. Get yours at Amazon! We LOVE DIYing with Plasti Dip Craft because not only does it give a nice rubber coating, but it’s peelable off most surfaces too! It’s such a cool versatile product that you can use for all sorts of things around the house. To make the card holder you first cut the plastic lid in half. Then, glue the lid together using a strong adhesive. You’ll want the lip of the lid to be facing the outsides. We like to use just a nice circle of adhesive towards the bottom of the holder in the middle. This way you can spread the cards all the way around where the adhesive is. If you’re using a larger lid, you may want to add a line of adhesive all along the bottom instead. You can always add more when you’re totally done with the project and find that you want to adjust it for your card holder. Tip: use a clip to hold the lid together while the glue cures. After the adhesive is totally cured, it’s time to spray with Plasti Dip Craft! Make sure you’re in a well-ventilated area and spray according to the directions on the can. We like several layers to really get that rubber coating nice and thick. It’s really cool to see it dry! Here’s a video we made so you can see how simple it is:

How to Use the DIY Card Holder

To use the card holder, you simply insert your cards in the open portion of the holder (in between the two lids). This way all your cards stay in place and your opponents can’t see them. You can place them as close together or as far apart as you need to depending on the size of the cards and how many you need to hold. This is a smaller lid so a large plastic lid would be able to hold more (or bigger) cards. How to make a DIY playing card holder using Plasti Dip Craft for a non-slip rubber coating You have to try out Plasti Dip Craft to really see/feel what it’s like. It is such a cool product and a fun addition to the Plasti Dip line. Plasti Dip Craft is also compatible with over 50 colors and enhancers of Plasti Dip, including a Create Your Color Kit. You can use it for so many craft or even home improvement projects. We’re already brainstorming tons of ways we’re going to use it around the house. To buy your own, you can Shop now on Amazon.
