I hope you are as excited as I am that Zootopia is now in theaters! I had so much fun learning about the characters and behind the scenes info at the #ZootopiaEvent last week. I think it only helped make me even more excited to share the film with all of you! Thanks to Dolby for partnering with us so that we could see the movie with some of you!
First about the film from me – Zootopia is such a humorous, smart and visually delightful film. There are some GREAT jokes for the adults (watch for the Frozen, Breaking Bad or Godfather references) amazing animation detail and great themes and lessons. The music is fun, the characters are lovable without being over the top and it’s just overall a really fun movie to watch with the family. I loved trying to grab all the details from the posters, ads and stores around Zootopia. The detail in the animals is also something to pay attention to. Watch how their hair moves when they’re running or in wind, there are so many great things to take in!
For the kids – as with any PG movie there are a few scenes that might be a bit scary to some more sensitive kids. Obviously you know your kids and how they do in movies. We saw lots of little ones do GREAT in the theater and they were all so enthralled. There are so many great themes for the kids to absorb here. Obviously they won’t get them all, but Judy Hopps is such a great character for kids to watch, whether they get what she’s up against and what she learns, or not. It’s one of those movies that everyone in the family will enjoy for different reasons.
Just be careful you’ll get that new Shakira song stuck in your head!
We got a chance to see Zootopia in Dolby Cinema at an AMC Prime this morning. It was our first time in a Dolby Cinema theater and it was AWESOME!
We had been to this theater before but had never seen a movie in the Dolby Cinema theater. There is definitely a HUGE difference. The image, the sound, the seats all together make a really great movie experience. We are familiar with the reserved seats at our AMC. If you haven’t don’t that yet I’m telling you, there’s no better way to go to the movies. You can pick your seat, buy your tickets and always know you’ll have your perfect seat waiting for you.
The seats here recline so they’re super comfy, but they also interact with the movie you’re watching. In Zootopia when a rhino falls – you feel it!
We checked out the theater here in Phoenix at Desert Ridge Marketplace but they have several options depending on where you live:
Just look for the movies/times showing in the Dolby Cinema theater! You’ll be able to reserve your seats and know that they’re the super awesome interactive ones. The sound in this theater is really cool too. It moves around depending on the scenes and just really adds to the whole experience!
It was fun getting to share the experience with some other bloggers and all of our winners!
Check out my interviews with Jason Bateman, Ginnifer Goodwin, Directors Byron Howard & Rich Moore and then grab your tickets to see Zootopia! For an even better experience, see it in Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime!
