My boys are sort of over the “crafting for Mom” stage. They’ll do little things here and there but they are over the adorable let’s make something cut for mom age in their lives. This DIY hanging jewelry organizer is so simple the boys can put it together and personalize it in minutes. Plus, it’s something they could change out and personalize throughout the year or Mom can use it to keep the family (or herself) organized beyond her jewelry.
All you need to make this simple organizer is a metal wall hanging. They have SEVERAL different designs and cut out pieces at Michaels right now like hearts or fun sayings, or you can get just a timeless rectangle like this one.
To personalize it, the kids can draw on it with dry erase markers! It will stay fairly well (more than on a dry erase board) but can be removed with glass cleaner if you want to take it off or re-do it.
We added “We Love Mom because…” and then wrote in reasons we love mom. Younger kids can draw pictures or designs.
To make it functional, add magnetic hooks and clips onto the board. These are awesome because you can put them wherever you need them.
Then you can gift with a necklace, photos or drawings/cards to add to the organizer when you hang it up! It can be personalized throughout the year too.
Super simple, but with a little homemade DIY mixed in and most kids will be able to make it all on their own!
And Mom can use it however she wants! Are you doing any DIY projects this Mother’s Day?
