Are your kids into making slime? There are so many different fun recipes to try. If they’ve been making it a lot or you have little ones playing along you might be concerned about some of the ingredients (or you just don’t want to hunt them all down). I realized that we hadn’t shared one of our favorite slime recipes that just happens to be easy and safe with only 3 food safe ingredients!
This slime is slimy, sticky and stretchy, everything you want in a slime!
I was cleaning some out of clothing the other day (the ingredients won’t hurt your clothes or washer either except maybe a bit of the food coloring) with all® fresh clean ESSENTIALS® and couldn’t believe I hadn’t shared it here yet!
All you need is 3/4 cup of tapioca starch, 2 cups of water and food coloring if you’d like.
Mix the water, starch and food coloring together in a small to medium saucepan.
Place over medium heat and stir continuously. After about 5 minutes it will start clumping up.
Once the entire batch gets darker (if you used food coloring) and translucent, you are done.
Allow to cool completely. Play with it a bit. Mix it, stretch it and see how you like the texture.
If you find it too sticky you can add water. It helps take away some of the tackiness!
I found that it cleans up well even on clothes! I’ve been using NEW sulfate free all® fresh clean ESSENTIALS® (the fragrance free one) that delivers a powerful clean without harshness.
You can try it out with this coupon good for $1.50 off one (1) all® fresh clean ESSENTIALS® (offer is valid from May 1 – July 31 or while supplies last) you can find them on the top shelf in the laundry aisle at Walmart. I love that all® fresh clean ESSENTIALS® includes the ingredients on the back of the bottle so you know what ingredients are going onto your laundry. It is actually one of the first laundry products to put ingredients out there for consumers to know what the ingredients are and why they’re essentials.
Just store the leftovers in a covered dish and add water as needed to “recover”. Oh and that cute bowl I put our slime in? I picked that up at Walmart too!
