May 28th is National Hamburger Day (May is Hamburger Month) and if there’s any “National Day of” we can get behind, it’s National Hamburger Day! It’s easy to celebrate with Culver’s (they even have an awesome sweepstakes going) but you can take it up a notch with a fun picnic and a free printable hamburger matching game.

HOW TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL HAMBURGER DAY (or month)

I’m pretty sure it’s not hard to get your kids excited about National Hamburger Day. I mean, who doesn’t love a good hamburger made just the way they like it?! We’re celebrating with a backyard picnic/movie/game night and Culver’s!

Culver’s is a family favorite and one of the few takeout places we visit frequently. We love that their 100% Midwest beef is fresh, never frozen (since frozen beef loses moisture & when you lose moisture you lose flavor) and that it’s cooked to order just for us. We all will eat pretty much anything but definitely have burger topping favorites. Luckily Culver’s makes it easy to customize each burger just the way we like it with options like:

  • number of patties
  • crisp lettuce
  • ripe tomatoes
  • crunchy pickles
  • sweet red onion
  • two strips of bacon
  • white button sauteed mushrooms
  • Cheddar, Swiss, or American cheese
  • signature mayo
  • ketchup
  • mustard

And all of that goes on to a lightly buttered and toasted bun (hence the name “ButterBurger”). The crown of the bun is lightly buttered for an extra touch of goodness to top it all off.

To celebrate, run to your nearest Culver’s and grab everyone their own ButterBurger Value Basket. We took ours home and set up in the backyard with some music.

As soon as the sun starts to dip, start up the backyard movie or kick off a game night! Easy, fun, and delicious.

PRINTABLE BURGER  MATCHING GAME

I love all the combinations you can create with Culver’s and it totally inspired this fun matching game! Just print this free file, cut, and play however you’d like!

Younger kids can just try to match up the burgers, older kids can turn them over and play the traditional “Memory” game!
