Alison over at This Homemade Life posted these photos of her boys making salt dough ornaments and it made me want to make some right away! Sometimes the simplest of crafts get overlooked so I thought I’d share.
See – don’t those photos just make you want to create?! Check out her blog for more
Here is Alison’s recipe
Salt Dough Ornaments
1/2 cup salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup water
Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Mix together salt, flour and water with a mixer or by hand. Knead with your hands to help it come together and become smooth. Use rolling pin and roll dough out to 1/4 inch thickness, using extra flour if needed to prevent sticking. Cut out desired shapes using cookie cutters. Bake for 2 hours at 25o degrees.
I also found a gluten free dough recipe for those who might have allergies.
Even if you don’t make ornaments you can always use the dough to make a beach scene or for a snow ball fight!
