I love the “bow and arrow” theme with Valentine’s Day but what good is a bow and arrow if it doesn’t really work? Here’s a fun craft that DOES work!

You’ll need a straw and a basic rubberband bracelet (contruction paper and glue/tape optional). If you don’t have a rubberband loom here is instructions on how to make a basic bracelet without the loom. You can pick up the rubberbands and clasps at most craft stores or Target/Walmart.

The construction paper was completely for my benefit – the boys could care less about it, but would be fun to add if you’re giving this as a gift!

Assemble the “arrow”

To use put the rubberband bracelet around your index finger and thumb as shown.

Place one end of the straw against the plastic clasp for stability

and let go (not at other people or pets – adult supervision required)

You could even make some paper plate targets for those arrows!
