Last year we posted about a new wearable device that lets you take your Minecraft worlds with you as a fun, unique holiday gift idea. I overheard my son showing it to his friends last week at his party and explaining how cool it was. If you’re like a lot of parents (or even kids) you might still not be too sure what exactly the Gameband is, how it’s made or why you’d use it. Lucky for us, they’ve pulled together a great video explaining just that!
You’ll even see some testimonials from key people at Mojang and I’m sure your kids know that it’s not an easy task to get Mojang’s endorsement!
I actually had briefly thought about the flash drive wearing out so I was happy to see they touched on that. Plus their process of making it and explanations of the benefits of a Gameband definitely helped me explain it better when talking to people. My kids have been using one since last year! (actually they’ve been bugging me to get another one 😉 )
Ours still gets a lot of use if you were wondering – here is where we first posted about it.
You can learn more about what it is/how it works on their site as well (I love the new video though!).
It really is wearable, durable and they are perfect for sleepovers or time at friend’s house. Mine love to take theirs to their grandparents. They don’t have to have anything special on their computer so it’s super easy for them!
You can pick up a Gameband at Best Buy, MS Stores, Target and Gamestop. Right now, Target is running a great gift card promotion!
