I have a boy turning 9 soon! He chose to get a larger gift this year (iPod touch) in lieu of a big friend birthday party but we will still be having a fun family get together. I can’t help but decorate a bit just for him. I love making my kids feel special. That’s my job as their mom right?!

I know I have the free printable lunch notes, but I like including fun little things in the boys’ lunch that will make them smile and show their friends. I really want to make them cute fun bento lunches all the time but let’s face it. I’m usually throwing their lunch together as we’re walking out the door so that rarely happens.

DIY hanger spider and spiderweb craft

The other night my 7 year old wanted something to do while we were preparing dinner. He loves playing with fuzzy sticks (pipe cleaners) so I thought I’d give him a little direction and ask if he wanted to make a spider web and a spider. He was all for it!

I love printables (as long as I have ink and paper). They provide an easy, cheap activity that I don’t have to leave the house or think too much about. I like ones I can print out and keep on hand for long restaurant visits (when I remember to bring them) or car rides. Something new to do/play with without having to go search the store for something different.
