I shared tons of pictures yesterday of the actual Harry Potter party but we like to have a fun celebration with our family and close family friends as well. As they’ve gotten older the boys cherish their family SO much, but they are just kids and when their school friends are around, they want to play with their school friends. This gives family a chance to see the birthday boy and him a chance to see them.
Obviously Harry Potter parties are NOT just for boys but this little boy loves Harry Potter and has been planning/making requests for this party for some time now. I hope you’re ready for LOTS of pictures!

Makes a mess but lots of fun! Who doesn’t love celebrating with confetti?! (Ok of course besides the person that has to clean it up, but that’s what a vacuum is for right?!)
I had big plans to do this with the boys and post it here but party plans are getting in the way so instead I’ll just share and hopefully show our posts later.
I found this Hammered Flower and Leaf Print tutorial from Build/Make/Craft/Bake.
The short version is gather flowers/leaves (on a nature walk?) spread them out on textured paper (like watercolor paper) and cover with a paper towel.
p>What’s with boys and critters? It’s like it’s engrained in their DNA to hunt for bugs and have a curiosity about all types of animals. I’m sure if you have an older boy you’ve experienced the fun of having some slimy creature shoved in your face.
